Supporting grassroots sports

Sport is the heart of Queensland communities, keeping people connected and delivering benefits far beyond the Games.

Queensland has a proud history of producing Olympians and Paralympians, many of whom hail from regional Queensland. The next generation of Queensland athletes need the opportunity to train and compete in high quality venues to grow their skills.

Grassroots sports facilities across the State will benefit from enhancements, including upgrades to Perry Park and a contribution to the home of football.

The new Queensland Government’s Games On! program is a commitment to enhancing regional sporting and community facilities to give our next generation of athletes the best chance of success. Leading into 2032, Games On! will deliver new or upgraded fields and courts, changerooms or lighting, and clubhouse enhancements to hundreds of Queensland facilities across every corner of the State.

This is just the start. These projects have already been committed to by the new Queensland Government. The Games On! program is set to expand to benefit even more community clubs before 2032.
